2.2 The Saviour -- The Bible's first main theme
Series 1, "What is the meaning of life?" gives an overview and
shows the meaning of life for us as individuals. For this reason, it
would be best to read through it first.
Series 1 highlights these key points:
- that many people are still influenced by the simplistic scientific
mindset of the 1900's, even though many of today's scientists, who
have seen the previously unimagined complexity of nature, no longer
deny the existence of a God and Creator.
- that the Bible is the Creator's handbook for our lives, and that
life is a school for eternity, with the Creator himself as our teacher through the Holy Spirit.
- that God's Son, Jesus Christ the Savior, holds an unique position
in world history; for only by his power can we learn to overcome in
temptations and trials.
We find the meaning of life only through growing into God's
image, as the Creator intended for us in the school of life.
