6.5 Economic selfishness among Christians

Economic selfishness among Christians
Today's Christians are not as unselfish as we should be according to the Bible.

Our selfishness can be partially seen in that:

  • 80-90% of church income is used for the local congregation.
  • 5-10% goes to already established missions fields.
  • A mere 0.1-1.0% goes to so-called unreached peoples, which comprise about 30% of the world's population.
  • Although the USA's population makes up only 4% of the world's population, a total of 96% of all the world's pastors work in the USA.
